Wedding Day : Highlight!

Planning a wedding is always a dream come true, but doing so during the MCO brought a whole new level of challenge and creativity, I think? Hehe. Despite the challenges of restricted travel and limited guest lists, we managed to create an intimate yet memorable celebration that was rich in tradition and love. Here's a closer look at the details of our special day on my side :

THE VVIP

Alhamdulillah feeling incredibly blessed and grateful to my wonderful parents for not only their love and support but for sponsoring and paying for everything on my wedding day. I couldnt have done it without my mama and abah. I am forever thankful! Love you both so much!

E-CARD INVITATION

For Invitation card, we opted for a traditional E-card invitation. It was a modern way to invite our guests while maintaining the beauty of a traditional malay invitation design. The E-cards were personalized with blue flower patterns and its only costs RM10.

VENUE

Our wedding took place at a charming hall in Dewan TTDI, which had just the right amount of space to ensure social distancing, while still keeping the intimate feel we wanted. Even if it not in MCO, this is still the hall I want for my wedding ceremony.

OUTFIT

For our nikah ceremony that was held at JAWI that “supposedly” be held at my previous engagement hall, I chose to wear a modern Baju Kurung, embroidered with intricate details and paired with a delicate veil. Just keeping things simple yet meaningful. The purity and elegance of the baju kurung from Hijabista Hub represented the solemnity of the ceremony.

For the reception, I wore a stunning wedding dress in a nude gold colour, paired with a long veil that added a touch of grace and elegance. My husband also wore a traditional Baju Melayu with a tanjak to complete the regal look, embodying the richness of malay wedding customs. But you know what if I could turn back the time, I wanted the wedding dress in maroon colour bcs its my favourite colour! Or at least a rich blue songket coz the outfit we wore were blended so well with the pelamin and the editor made the photos even more brighter so our wedding dress colour doesnt stand out. Sighhh

PELAMIN

Photo 1 - The mini pelamin for our solemnization day features a minimalist and fresh design. We hired Valovea Wedding coz its within my budget.

Photo 2 – The huge pelamin for my reception designed by Embun Wedding. We opted for a soft, pastel color scheme with touches of gold and rich blue backdrop for a luxurious yet understated vibe hehe. The pelamin was the focal point, beautifully adorned with flowers and traditional malay elements, so like reflecting both heritage and modern sophistication.

MUA

My MUA for nikah ceremony was an absolute dream to work with. She created a flawless bridal look, enhancing my features while keeping things natural. The makeup held up throughout the day and I felt radiant from start to finish. As for my reception, the MUA comes with a package by Embun Wedding and still looks classy and beautiful.

HENNA

In the lead-up to the big day, I had beautiful henna designs done on my hands, adding a traditional element to my bridal look.

PHOTOGRAPHER

Our photographer did an incredible job documenting our day. Every moment was beautifully preserved. Just as what I've mentioned above about the photo editing, it was so bright and my dad doesnt like the editing huhu. Idk who should I blame either me for wearing that colour or the editor? Haha

EMCEE

Oh yes our emcee was incredible in adapting to the limited crowd and bringing an energy that made the wedding feel full of life despite the restrictions. They ensured smooth transitions between speeches and the all-important makan time!

CATERING AND FOOD

Food is central to any Malay wedding right? So we made sure to serve a lavish feast filled with our fav traditional dishes. For catering, we chose Alya Jaya Catering. This catering owned to my old neighbour whom we have known for 15 years!

WEDDING CAKE

Our wedding cake was the perfect sweet ending to the day. Designed to match our wedding theme, it was as delicious as it was beautiful. The cake-cutting moment was one of joy, surrounded by family and friends who made the day even more special. Our cake also from Alya Jaya Catering!

DOORGIFT

In keeping with malay wedding traditions, we chose bunga telur and biscuits as our doorgifts. Each guest received a beautifully packaged. The biscuits added a sweet touch, making the gift both thoughtful and delicious.

Despite the hurdles brought by the MCO, our wedding turned out to be an unforgettable experience filled with love and laughter. The downsized celebration allowed us to focus more on meaningful connections with our closest family and friends. It was a day we’ll cherish forever.

Alhamdulillah and thanks for reading
